A good reminder that in 1991 Azerbaijan refused the legal succession of former Soviet Azerbaijan & reestablished the statehood of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic (1918-1920) which never had Nagorno-Karabakh within its structure.
NK was annexed to Soviet Azerbaijan in 1921.
